Susie De Ridder was named the female driver of the year by The Women in Trucking Association & Walmart, who is a driver for Armour Transportation Systems in New Brunswick, Canada. It was between Susie & two other finalists, Carmen Anderson and Sarah Fiske. Carmen driver for America’s Service Line & Sarah for FedEx Freight.
40 years & 4 million accident-free miles with many other acknowledgments along the way, Susie has been inspiring female drivers anywhere for the career opportunity for women in the trucking industry.
She’s been in trucking magazines in the USA & Canada, attended Girl Gala events in high schools & participates in Convoy for Hope Atlantic yearly raising money for cancer awareness and research.
“I am always inspiring and encouraging the next generation to join the trucking industry. I promote this in my daily travels with Clare, WIT’s trucking doll. She is proudly displayed on my dash and is a great conversation starter to tell others about my awesome trucking career,” said De Ridder.

The award sponsored by Walmart is meant to promote all professional female drivers who practice safety, go above and beyond enhancing the public image of the trucking industry.
